Zwei turned her eyes away from the draperies and looked around the pitch black room. She barely could see the shapes of all the things that was placed there. But that was exactly what she wanted. Sight wasn't the most important of the five senses, because that could be easily fooled. Even this particular room could actually look slightly different, but no one would notice, because they looked. She knew, what has to be done. Of course, people couldn't go without the sight, but mostly touching, hearing, smelling and sometimes even tasting could be used much more better than seeing. And the Baskreville very well managed to do that.
The girl slowly made her way through the silent room, her bear foot quietly making contact with the cold stone floor. Air was quite fresh, especially considering that it was middle of the night - window was closed many hours before. Smooth wooden bureau was as lovely as always, notifying Zwei that she now was very close to the bed.
Oh, what a wonderful sight! she amused herself, giggling a bit about her sense of humor. The world looks so much better this way.
Rethinking her previous thoughts, Zwei pushed at some soft edge - the bed. Smiling surprisingly softly, she touched the soft satin sheets, slowly caressing it with all her hand. The Baskreville very well could 'sense' the mild figures of the bed itself, the pillows, sheets and a man under them. Blond hair nicely lay around the pale face, which looked amazingly calm and at ease. Small strand of hair had found it's way across the mans' face, placed above the right eye, which would be looking at the girl with the red light reflecting from it, if not the sleep, which had taken the man in it's world.
For a second Zwei couldn't move from the surprise and magic of this moment. She never before had seen Vincent Nightray look like he did now. Of course, when he was awake he only smiled his horribly sweet set smile all the time, but the girl had never before dared to walk in his room at the night. She asked herself, why she was doing it now, but the answers that came across her thoughts were too silly or too serious, so Zwei let it slip away in the depths of her twisted, complicated mind.
Small sigh came from the girl when she squatted down next to Vincent's bed, slowly, carefully reached and pushed away that little strand of hair from his face. Then Zwei put her head on her folded arms and again smiled, feeling like a part of this calm night where even the darkest men could rest in peace.
I wonder, if this will last forever.
